8. Leading As A Black Woman in the Military with Bionca Lindsey
Today I am talking to Bionca Lindsey about what it means to be Black and in the military.
Bionca is a consultant for Nutrition Care Professionals and a counselor with Montgomery Community Corrections for domestic violence. She also serves as the President for Alabama’s Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals while also serving as Vice President for two associations: Autauga County Master Gardener Association and Alabama Herb Society. She is a retired Chief Master Sergeant, who served 30 years in our United States Air Force. She is also the only person to date in the history of the Air Force who has risen from the Dietary Therapy Career Field to Air Force Medical Service Senior Executive Management Level.
Before assuming her last position in the Air Force, she held the highest position in the Diet Therapy career field as senior enlisted consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General on Air Force Dietetics governing 55 nutrition sites world-wide. Listen in as we discuss the importance of knowing your value, the qualities a leader should have, and why you don’t always have to be the one to speak.
